Young Mathematicians’ Awards

The National Young Mathematicians’ Awards are the only team maths competition for primary schools in the UK.

The competition, now in its fifth year, is run in conjunction with the NRICH project at the University of Cambridge and is designed to inspire and challenge talented mathematicians from across the UK.

Having already competed in and successfully won through the regional knock-out rounds of the competition, the Year 6 Team headed over to Sixfields to take part in the Semi-Finals. Pitted against 4 other schools in a 1 hour exercise of teamwork and maths, the team worked hard to tackle a series of challenges.

The winners of the Semi-Finals go through to the main final in Cambridge in a few weeks time. Regardless of the outcome, everybody was pleased to have taken part and the rest of Year 6, Mrs Aldridge, Mrs Moss and Mr Oakley are all really proud of them.

Well done guys!
