Blists Hill Victorian Town

We had a lovely day at Blists Hill Victorian Town today despite the rain!  Some of us exchanged our money for Victorian money and were surprised to see the differences and how far our money seemed to go! It was very interesting watching how all the industries work together and provide goods and services for each other – we saw the wood carver carve a pattern from a wood block that was then used by the plasterer to make a mould and a decorative plaster masterpiece. I think we will all agree that the sweet shop was a big hit, so much so they ran out of pear drops! We are all now certainly very inspired to learn more about this term’s topic of The Victorians. What were your highlights?
