English poetry homework 6 SA

We love poetry in Year 6SA so your homework for the next 2 weeks is to learn a poem off by heart and be ready to recite it to the rest of the class on Monday 20th November! As we are learning about The Victorians, the poems I have chosen for you are all from The Victorian times. You can find the links below. Please take time to listen to some of them read aloud online so that you can hear the expression. Poems should be performed so do make sure you read with emphasis. Happy reading! Mrs Aldridge.

Dover Beach: Matthew Arnold

Charge of Light Brigade: Tennyson

I wandered lonely as a cloud: Wordsworth

@mrsaldridge is it ok if i do this poem

    Unmindful of the roses,
    Unmindful of the thorn,
    A reaper tired reposes
    Among his gathered corn:
So might I, till the morn!

    Cold as the cold Decembers,
Past as the days that set,
    While only one remembers
And all the rest forget, –
    But one remembers yet.

Hi Olivia. I would like you to learn as much of the poem as possible off by heart so that you can perform it more easily. See how you get on. You have until November 20th. Mrs Aldridge
